Welcome to Concordia

Concordia is your final resting place before venturing into the Great Beyond. If you woke up here then it must mean that your mortal life have reached its expiration. Have you lived a fulfilling life and would like to continue on to the Great Beyond, or will you return to the mortal plane to satiate your unsatisfied desires?

CONCORDIA

Concordia is already a paradise in itself. It is an almost perfect simulation of mortal life but without death and suffering.

Concordia is not the only 'paradise' city that exists, however, there are others as well. But these cities reflect the reality that the people who awaken in Concordia know of hence the 21st century, modern-like structures. This is to avoid the cognitive dissonance that they might experience upon awakening, especially to those people who have lived through many cycles.

AWAKENING

People are judged by Concordian standards, not human standards, before they are awakened in Concordia. However, humans are not perfect, if they were perfect they would already be at the Great Beyond.

Many considerations are taken into account before the person is allowed to wake up in Concordia. As long as they're deeply repentant for all the 'wrongs' they might have done and the enormity of their actions are minimal, they will wake up in Concordia, otherwise they would have awaken in Elios.

Humans often believe that taking one's own life is one of the greatest sins that man could ever commit but such an act is not taken into consideration by Concordia, what matters is the life they lived, not the manner of how it ended.

TRANSFERENCE

Concordians are only allowed to stay in Concordia for a limited time. When they hear the Maker's Calling, then they will know that their Day of Transference has come. It should be noted that Transference is not available to citizens that have not stayed in Concordia for more than two weeks.

They will then be given two choices. (1) They will be allowed to return to the mortal plane to live another life or (2) they can move on to the Great Beyond, the true paradise, but they will never be able to return to Concordia or the mortal plane ever again for they will already be deemed perfect.

CYCLES

Mortals often believe that they only live one life but that is not entirely true at all. When people wake up in Concordia, they will be able to remember all the cycles they've lived thus far.

On their Transference, they are allowed to return to the mortal plane to go on another cycle. Should they choose to do so however, their memories of Concordia and their previous lives will be stripped away.

However, one should be careful of the amount of cycles they live. Souls are sturdy but they are not invincible.

GUIDELINES

General

INTERACTIONS MUST BE IN ENGLISHFeel free to speak in other languages if it has nothing to do with the agency but please keep it to a minimum.
OOC POSTS WILL BE LIMITEDJust like speaking in other languages, OOC posts should also be minimal.
TIMELINE IS PG-13However, rated roleplays can be taken to DMs.
OC/AU/MV CHARACTERS ONLYOriginal characters (OC) are your own originally created characters.
Alternate universe (AU) characters are characters that are canonical characters in media or real people but are made to exist in an alternate universe. These characters are usually labeled this way:
[alternate trait/personality/form]![Name of Character]
Ex. Evil!Jughead, Vampire!Donghae
Multiverse characters (MV) are a single character, be it OC or AU, that are used to roleplay in multiple verses. Their existence in one verse does not affect their existence in another verse.
JOINING OTHER AGENCIES IS ALLOWEDHowever, the limit is 3 including this one.
KEEP THE DRAMA IN THE PLOTDrama outside of plot should be non-existent, however if you have problems with anyone within the agency please approach us first instead of publicizing it.
PLAY NICE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THE GOLDEN RULE

Roleplay

NO MARY SUES/GARY STUSThese are characters that are practically perfect in every way and has little to no flaw. They leave no room for character development since they're already perfect. Please avoid this kind of character.
GODMODDING, POWERPLAYING, AND METAGAMING IS NOT ALLOWEDGodmodding is when you control another character without their consent. Please focus on controlling your own character.
Powerplaying is when you make a character have an uncharacteristically unfair advantage. Concordia might be paradise but it's still a perfect simulation of mortal life so it's still restricted to certain aspects of reality.
Metagaming is when a character knows something they shouldn't know only because the mun knows about it. The mun is not the character, what the mun sees doesn't mean that their character can also see it.
MIRRORED ROLEPLAY IS ADVISEDThis agency does not require you to be a literate roleplayer. If you're more comfortable with roleplaying with a few lines, then so be it. If you're comfortable with multiple paragraphs then go ahead. Just please remember to give out as much as you want to receive.
LABEL YOUR ROLEPLAYSThis is to avoid confusion, especially if you belong in other agencies or an MV character. It's up to you how you want it to look but please specify whether it's a Concordia-related roleplay beforehand by tagging us on the first post of your thread.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, HAVE FUN!Roleplaying is not a business nor should it be a burden to you. Roleplay to you heart's content and for your own satisfaction, not anyone else.

Going AWOL three (3) times is equivalent to one (1) strike. A citizen will be removed after they have been AWOL for thirty (30) days or if their credits have zeroed out because of excessive absences. Note: Citizens will not be automatically removed if they zeroed out by other means.

Hiatus

Citizens are only allowed to take any kind of hiatus after two (2) weeks have passed since verification.Semi-hiatus lasts for seven (7) days and we will not require you to give us a reason for it.A standard hiatus lasts for fourteen (14) days and we hope that you give us a reason for it.An extended hiatus lasts for over fourteen (14+) days and a reason is required for this as well.

Currency

Essentially, there is no need for money in Concordia so there is also essentially, no need to work for it. Despite retaining the ability to taste and eat food, no one really goes hungry. And even if a person gets evicted from their homes, there's always The Bunkhouse where lodging is free.

However, the existence of the Concordian credit (₡) is meant to show its denizens the value of value. Will they be stingy? Will they be greedy? Or will they be irresponsible?

Newcomers will receive a card containing ₡1000 upon awakening in Concordia. Certain areas and facilities may require a certain amount of credit before you can have access to them. If you'd like to gain access you must work to earn more credits. For more information regarding employment, please inquire at Concordia Corp. (@concordiancorp)

Citizens need not worry about calculating credits as their earnings will be automatically tracked by the Bank of Concordia (@concordianbank).

Zeroing Out

If you run out of credits then that means you have already zeroed out. Zeroing out due to absences will automatically remove you from Concordia. However, zeroing out by other means will only be dealt with through a punishment.
You will be required to work for a total of seven (7) days The citizens will decide what type of work will you have to do. The poll will be opened the whole day. Should there be no votes made or if it resulted in the draw, the Overseer or Deputy Overseer will decide on the punishment. You will not be allowed to leave your last location for the duration of the poll.If you are already employed in a job, you will still have to work on the job assigned to you as punishment. After you've accomplished your punishment, the Bank of Concordia will give you ₡500.
Please be reminded that zeroing out is a permanent record. If you zeroed out three (3) times, that will count as one (1) strike.

Strikes

Rules and guidelines are implemented to keep things in order. If you've accumulated three (3) strikes, then we are sorry but you must be banished to Oblivion.
Three (3) warnings for 'petty crimes' (by the mun or character) is equivalent to one (1) strike.Zeroing out three (3) times is equivalent to one (1) strike.Zeroing out due to absences is equivalent to three (3) strikes.Going AWOL three (3) times is equivalent to one (1) strike.
Rude, intolerant, and terroristic attitude of either the character or the mun will automatically remove them from Concordia. They will also be publicly announced as a warning for other users and agencies.

Departure

Citizens can depart from Concordia in four (4) ways.
Through the Day of Transference and choosing to return to the mortal planeYou will be allowed to return to Concordia with a different name, face, and life. All the memories and credits you've earned in your previous cycles will be retained once you return.
Through the Day of Transference and choosing to step into the Great BeyondYou will be eternally putting your soul to rest. That soul will not be allowed back to the mortal plane or Concordia. Should you wish to return to Concordia, it will be through a new cycle so All the memories and credits you've earned will be lost.
Through OblivionShould you be banished to Oblivion during your stay in Concordia, your soul will never be able to return to the mortal plane nor Concordia ever again. All your memories and credits will be lost as well.
Through EliosBeing banished to Elios means that you have done a great disservice to Concordia and its people. You will lose all your memories and credits and you will be remembered by your disgraceful acts.

THE CRYSTAL SPIRE

This towering structure in the heart of Concordia is every citizen's first destination. Newcomers of Concordia are received at the Hall of Awakening, located on the first floor of the Crystal Spire.

The height of the Spire reaches past the clouds. There are other floors and rooms within but citizens are only allowed on the ground floor and first floor of the Spire.

The higher floors of the Spire can only be accessed by the Overseer, the Deputy Overseer, the Coterie, and other trusted personnel. The topmost floor is where the Overseer resides.

AGORA

Agora is a bright and bustling area that lies in the inner circle of Concordia. High rise buildings, condominiums, and the financial and market districts can be found here.

Most of Concordia's workforce are designated to work in establishments in this area. This is why the Bunkhouse and many affordable apartments can be found here.

ELYSIA

Elysia is a peaceful and serene neighborhood that lies around the outer circle of Concordia. Quaint houses, townhouses, and a thriving commercial area of small businesses and other facilities can be found in this district.

Although the area is a popular choice of home to many, its wide roads and open-areas are never too populous or congested. Elysia is also surrounded by lush forests, farms, and lakes where some people have also chosen to reside in.

MARENA

Marena is a dome-shaped underwater district located about 2000 meters under the sea. It may be the smallest district in Concordia but it is also the most expensive.

There are no housing units in Marena but there are places where one can stay temporarily. With various lavish forms of entertainment and ambience, it is said that this is where citizens can truly indulge in their freedom.

INACCESSIBLE

These are existing locations that are inaccessible by ordinary means, but are nevertheless important to know about.

The Great Beyond

Concordia might be one's final resting place but it is in the Great Beyond where one's soul can be eternally laid to rest.

No one really knows exactly what the Great Beyond looks like. Not even the Overseer knows what lies beyond the veil, despite being the only one who can commune with the Coterie, or so he says. All that's known is that only the perfect may step foot in the Great Beyond to meet the Maker.

Elios

There are only two places where a person can wake up to after death, one is Concordia and the other is Elios. When a person wakes up in Elios, that must mean that they have lived a life of inconceivable sinfulness and they will be severely punished for their sins.

Unlike Concordia, Elios does not allow its people to return to a mortal life. They're considered a threat to mankind and will be eternally punished in Elios.

Being awaken in Concordia does not guarantee that a person won't end up in Elios no matter how many times a person ended up in Concordia after fulfilling a cycle in the mortal plane. Even if they're presently living in Concordia, a person can still be sent to Elios should they be deemed a threat to Concordia.

Elios, unlike Concordia, can actually be seen by mortals in the mortal plane. All they have to do is look up in the sky on a bright sunny day.

Oblivion

Elios only takes in the souls of the sinful so should the souls be deemed unworthy to step into the Great Beyond or return to the mortal plane, Oblivion is where they're banished to.

Oblivion is even more of a mystery than the Great Beyond to all of Concordia. The Coterie speaks nothing of it so even the Overseer is in the dark about what Oblivion exactly is.

Everyone who's ever been banished to Oblivion has never returned. Some say it’s even worse than Elios because people have little to know knowledge about it. If Oblivion was a blessing or a curse, no one really knows.

These are the current residents of Concordia.
